The Seattle Seahawks announced safety Julian Love, punter Michael Dickson, center Jalen Sundell and linebacker Drake Thomas as their captains for Week 2's road game vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

In their first divisional bout of the campaign, the Seahawks are sending a message to the rest of the NFC West with their captain's picks. All four of Love, Dickson, Sundell and Thomas are underrated at their positions and thrive when games get physical. The first two are both strong All-Pro candidates. Love has had interceptions in both of the past two games against last season's MVP runner-up in Drake Maye. Dickson kept flipping the field in the Super Bowl in a fashion that
allowed the Seahawks to shut out the Patriots offense for the first 48 minutes of the game. Sundell and Thomas are both former undrafted free agents, but when you turn on the tape, they look like some of the most violent and formidable players on the field. Both played every single rep last week.
What makes the Seahawks the best team in the NFL is the same strength that helped them run up a 35-0 lead on the Cardinals the last time they played. They have the top-end talent, but the depth that supports it laps the NFL's other talent factories by a substantial margin. They have top-end talent like NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, but their biggest advantage might actually be how much better their 5th-20th best players are than the rest of the NFL's talent factories. These captains will lead that charge.
