The Seattle Seahawks elevated safety Maxen Hook and running back Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad for their Week 3 game against the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson, adding depth in the secondary and offensive backfield.
Hook joins the Seahawks’ secondary with the team’s safety position currently riddled with injuries. Julian Love and Ty Okada are out for Week 3, and Rodney Thomas II and AJ Finley are set to start in their place. Hook gives Seattle another available option behind those fill-in starters and is in line to make his NFL debut in the game.
The rookie safety has yet to play in a game this season. However, he will be available to contribute while serving as a depth piece on defense. His promotion gives
the Seahawks an additional player capable of stepping into the lineup if the secondary requires adjustments during the game.
Jones provides another option at running back and will play behind Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson. His versatility offers Seattle flexibility as well.
The Seahawks will look to improve to 3-0 on the season against the Commanders in Week 3 with Hook and Jones in the mix.
