The Seattle Seahawks have just lost their second game in less than a calender week, as they fell in overtime to the Denver Broncos with a 17-14 defeat. Of all the three losses the now 3-3 Seahawks have suffered this year, this was by far the most frustrating.
Seattle squandered a magnificent performance from their legendary Dark Side defense. That side of the ball showed up to play with a purpose. Bo Nix and the Broncos offense felt the power of the Dark Side on Thursday night, limiting the former Oregon Duck to only 107 passing yards. Denver's offense as a whole had 168 yards, which was further reduced to only 38 in the second half/overtime.
However, it was not enough, because the Dark Side had a Sam Darnold-sized sand bag weighing the team down.
Seattle's offense smoked the Broncos in first downs (24 to 13), total yards (353 to 168) and time of possession (35:38 to 29:29) but could barely muster 14 points. Why? One reason: the Seahawks can't stop turning the damn ball over! Another game, another three more turnovers produced by this Seattle offense. One was a fumble from Rashid Shaheed, and two were interceptions thrown by Sam Darnold on two of the Seahawks' final three possessions to doom them to a loss.
The Seahawks trailed 14-3 in the second quarter, and remained at this score for most of the game. They did manage to show life late thanks to a George Holani touchdown run with a little over five minutes remaining. A stunning toe-tapping reception from Rashid Shaheed on the ensuing two-point conversion earned him redemption and made the game 14-11. Seattle had life!
The Dark Side did what they had been doing all night long and forced a Broncos three-and-out when Nick Emmanwori sacked Bo Nix. You can see all three plays in the tweets below!

Sadly, Seattle's attempt to tie or win the game was cut short when Sam Darnold threw his first interception of the night with 1:25 left in the game. Darnold had been playing with fire all night, looking shaky at best, and finally got burned. This felt like game over for sure, but Seattle did have three time outs left. Miraculously, they only needed two and forced another three-and-out in only fifteen seconds of game time! Darnold got the Seahawks in position for a game-tying 34-yard field goal from Jason Myers, who had one doink off the right upright earlier in the game. This one went through, and Seattle was somehow headed to overtime.
This is where the good feelings ended. Denver won the coin toss and chose the second possession. Seattle had the ball first, and only made it 15 yards before Darnold threw his second interception of the night. The Broncos only needed eight yards to get into field goal range, which they successfully walked it off from 53 yards out.
The Seahawks fall to 3-3 and return to Lumen Field. Unfortunately, there is no rest for the wicked, as they will have to take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle will go into the mini bye week desperately searching for answers.
