The Seattle Seahawks were without rookie running back Jadarian Price in Week 4. Price will miss a minimum of four contests after being placed on IR. That made the Seahawks' offense more reliant on Emanuel Wilson in Sunday's showdown versus the Los Angeles Chargers, a thrilling 30-23 victory.
Wilson totally stepped up as required. With news coming out that the Seahawks hosted veteran running back Joe Mixon on a free-agent visit, it was Wilson who looked capable of being the Seahawks' RB1 will Price heals and Zach Charbonnet returns to practice.
Wilson rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown via 21 carries. He averaged a get-the-job-done 3.9 yards per attempt. Wilson also fumbled, but was fortunate the Seahawks recovered his cough-up.
Wilson also displayed
a dual-threat skill set. He added three receptions, 39 receiving yards and a catching score to his offensive totals. Wilson's touchdown was a 23-yard catch on a well-designed screen pass in the first quarter, and his 8-yard rushing score occurred later in the first half.
After rushing for just 44 yards in Week 3, the Seahawks dominated on the ground versus the Chargers. Brian Fleury's offense accumulated 138 rushing yards. Even Rashid Shaheed rushed for a touchdown. Wilson led the way for a shorthanded Seahawks rushing attack.
