The Seattle Seahawks have completed the 2026 NFL preseason, and now they face the most painful part of the year: roster cuts. Seattle has begun the process to trim down their roster to reach their final 53 for the regular season.
It was an unusual preseason for the Seahawks, finishing 0-2-1 this August. Seattle showed signs of improvement each week, but were unable to secure a victory. However, this is the preseason... wins, losses and ties don't matter. What does matter are the individual performances. For many, they may have played their last snap as a Seahawk. Others may find their way to the practice squad, and others may find their way to new NFL homes.
We at Seahawks Wire will be tracking all roster cuts throughout the day with our live
blog. Seattle has until a 1:00 pm Pacific Time deadline to make all necessary cuts.
Seahawks make their first cut of the day - DT Wy'Kevious Thomas
The Seahawks have started to inform players of their plan to waive them as they trim their roster to 53 ahead of today’s 1 p.m. deadline.

I’m told one player who’s being waived is second-year DT Wy'Kevious “Bubba” Thomas. He spent his rookie season on Seattle’s practice squad.
