The Seattle Seahawks will play against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 8. It's a pivotal matchup between legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. In relation to the 2027 NFL draft, the Seahawks will enter Monday's showdown currently slated for the No. 17 overall selection.
NFL Draft On SI: Sports Illustrated dropped a brand new first-round mock draft this morning. With Dante Fowler Jr. and DeMarcus Lawrence as aging assets, they unsurprisingly selected a pass rusher for the Seahawks with the 17th pick. They have GM John Schneider selecting Alabama defensive end Yhonzae Pierre.
"Yhonzae Pierre entered the season as the clear-cut favorite for EDGE3, but has cooled a bit," SI wrote. "The Alabama standout is still roughly on track
to match or surpass his 8.0 sacks in 2025. The Seattle Seahawks haven't appropriately replaced Boye Mafe, and both DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr. won't be around much longer."
Pierre has 3.5 sacks for the Crimson Tide this season, including takedowns in recent back-to-back games versus Tennessee and Georgia. He had a career-high 8.0 sacks last year. Schneider definitely believes in restocking the cupboard at the pass-rushing positions. Pierre is almost certainly on Schneider's radar.
