Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp credited quarterback Drew Lock for being prepared when called upon in Seattle’s 13-10 win over the New England Patriots.
Speaking to ESPN’s Jane Slater after the win (via The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar), Kupp lauded Lock for delivering for the team after not going through dry runs in the week leading up to the game.
“Drew did an unbelievable job coming in,” Kupp said. “Speaks to his preparation. He took no reps this week, but to come in and lead us the way he did was really special.”
Seahawks starting quarterback Sam Darnold got injured early in the game, which led to Lock getting the call to take his place in the offense. Lock completed 16-22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown during Seattle's victory.
Though he was not taking reps in practice, Lock stepped in and did what was necessary to help Seattle secure the victory.
Lock and the Seahawks now move on from the Patriots win with their Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in front of them.
