Seattle Seahawks linebacker Chazz Surratt’s impressive preseason in 2026 has not gone unnoticed.
Pro Football Focus assessed Surratt as being the Seahawks’ highest-graded player for the preseason with an 85.4 overall grade.
“The 2021 third-round pick played 75 snaps in the Seahawks’ first two preseason games,” PFF’s Gordon McGuinness said. “He recorded four tackles resulting in a defensive stop, had a 0.0% missed tackle rate and forced a pair of fumbles.”
Surratt led all Seahawks players who met the 45-snap minimum required for consideration. Surratt stood out for his consistency, and had his fingerprints all over the field with the plays that he made for Seattle.
Surratt began the preseason against the Dallas Cowboys, recording six tackles in Seattle’s
opening game. He had one of the strongest individual showings for the Seahawks’ defense on the game.
The veteran linebacker finished with five tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss in the Seahawks’ second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. He was again among Seattle’s top performers.
Surratt did not appear in the statistical column in Seattle’s preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The preseason gives Surratt momentum heading into the next season. After seeing limited action for Seattle in 2025, he enters the upcoming season having demonstrated an ability to make plays on the Seahawks’ defense as an aggressive disruptor. Surratt’s preseason emergence makes him a player worth watching once the 2026 season begins.
