Seattle Seahawks superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has picked up where his Offensive Player of the Year campaign left off. JSN has been totally dominant throughout 2026. We have every reason to believe he'll dominate the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Smith-Njigba enters Week 9 leading all receivers in every major category. The former Ohio State standout has already recorded 64 receptions for 985 yards and nine touchdowns. Extrapolating his current production to a 17-game season places him on pace for a historical 2,000-yard campaign, which would even out-produce his 2025 result (1,793).
As outstanding as Smith-Njigba has been, it's worth remembering he played his best game of the season against the Cardinals in Week 2. JSN torched this
Cardinals secondary for season-highs, nine catches for 155 yards and three touchdowns.
Smith-Njigba's quarterback in that game was backup Drew Lock. With Sam Darnold nursing multiple injuries again, Lock will start for the Seahawks on Sunday. There's no concern about JSN having chemistry with the new starting quarterback.
The Seahawks offense shouldn't miss a beat without the struggling Darnold in the lineup. Earlier this season, Lock proved capable of executing the offense at a fairly high level. It helps when you have someone like Smith-Njigba to pepper with targets.
