Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged as one of the NFL’s top early AP Offensive Player of the Year candidates.
At the time of this article’s publishing, DraftKings Sportsbook has given Smith-Njigba the third-best odds to win the AP Offensive Player of the Year award in 2026 at +950 after the latest slate of games in Week 2 came to a close.
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (+550), and Kansas City Chiefs RB and current NFL rushing yards leader Kenneth Walker III (+800) are the only two players with better odds to win this year’s OPOY award than Smith-Njigba at the present.
Smith-Njigba’s is off to a dominant start to the year for Seattle. He leads the NFL in receiving yards with 277 and receiving touchdowns with four.
The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year has consistently created separation, generated big plays and produced game-changing plays in key situations for the Seahawks through two games.
JSN had a defining game in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. He went for 155 receiving yards and three REC touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 31-7 win over the Cardinals, strengthening his position as perhaps the league’s most dangerous offensive player, regardless of position, this season.
The award race remains wide open, and the season is still young, but Smith-Njigba has established himself among the leading contenders for the OPOY nod in 2026. Sustaining his elite level of production throughout the the season while helping the Seahawks continue to win will strengthen his case for a second straight OPOY award once the year concludes.
