Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged as the standard setter at the wide receiver position in the NFL yet again through the first two weeks of the 2026 season.
Pro Football Focus has given Smith-Njigba the highest receiving grade among all wide receivers in the NFL through last Sunday’s slate of games with a grade of 93.
Smith-Njigba has fueled the Seahawks to a 2-1 start to the year. The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year award winner followed an eight-reception, 122-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Seahawks’ 13-10 win over the New England Patriots in Week 1 with the most productive game of his career Sunday against Arizona.
With backup quarterback Drew Lock making his first start in place of the injured Sam
Darnold, Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns in Seattle’s 31-7 victory against the Cardinals. He broke loose for an 82-yard touchdown in the first quarter, then added scoring catches of 11 and 12 yards as the Seahawks pulled away.
Each of Lock’s three touchdown throws went to Smith-Njigba in Week 2. JSN has wowed this season with elite numbers, clutch plays, high-scoring efforts, and exhibitions that again cement him as one of, if not the best deep ball threats in the league.
