Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba came away from Week 1 as one of the top performers in the league.
Pro Football Focus named Smith-Njigba to their NFL Team of the Week for Week 1 after making a major impact in Seattle’s 13-10 win over the New England Patriots.
Smith-Njigba recorded eight receptions for 122 receiving yards and a REC touchdown in the win. He made several important plays throughout the game and came alive late with a 45 yard catch that resulted in his touchdown score. His performance helped the Seahawks remain competitive in a closely contested matchup, leading to the victory.
The reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year Smith-Njigba picked up right where he left off from last season, with a performance that has him
ranked No. 6 in the league in receiving yards coming out of the week.
Smith-Njigba’s combination of consistency, playmaking ability and production made him one of the league’s top-performing receivers during the opening week. He has a strong foundation to put forth another prolific season in 2026.
