The Seattle Seahawks look every bit like the defending Super Bowl champions that they are through the early portion of the 2026 NFL season, but is a trade needed to give them a stronger chance to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the second consecutive year?
The Seahawks have it all on defense, and the offense has put on exhibitions in multiple games of the year, including 31-point performances in Weeks 2 and 3. Nevertheless, the team may have room to improve to its offensive line or tight end room with a midseason trade in the coming weeks.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox named Jalen Milroe as being the Seahawks’ most sensible trade piece at the present due to the role that he currently has on the team.
“Seattle could potentially find some
value by trading third-string quarterback and 2025 third-round pick Jalen Milroe,” Knox said. “He's firmly behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock on the depth chart, but he's still a very intriguing developmental prospect.”
Milroe is a promising dual-threat quarterback who appears to have the upside to lead a franchise. However, after seeing Lock in action for two weeks this season, he has given Seattle reason to be confident in him being its backup behind Darnold without a great need for a third-stringer.
The Seahawks have dealt with down play from Anthony Bradford dating back to last season, and a need for another right guard looks pressing, with Bradford having allowed three pressures in only one game played so far this season. Dealing Milroe for a right guard, or packaging him and Bradford to acquire another tight end to play behind AJ Barner may give the team an added edge to strive for another Super Bowl at the end of the season.
