This Seattle Seahawks defense has been downright dominant entering Week 3. They're allowing just 8.5 points per contest, second-fewest in the league. They have another winnable game on Sunday, as they'll be facing the Washington Commanders with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota.
We've identified three potential X-factors for the Seahawks on defense against the Commanders in Week 3.
Byron Murphy II, DT
This Commanders offensive line is a struggling unit and Mariota has a tendency to invite pass-rushing opportunities by holding onto the football. This entire Seahawks defensive line should be licking their chops. Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II is still searching for his first sack of 2026, but he's already registered four pressures.
Julian Love, S
Veteran safety Julian Love is arguably
off to the best start of his impressive career. The versatile defensive back has recorded interceptions in consecutive games for Mike Macdonald's defense. Love will attempt to get his league-leading third INT off an outmatched Mariota.
Nick Emmanwori, S
Sophomore safety Nick Emmanwori got his feet wet, returning from offseason surgery to play nine debut snaps in the Week 2 blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The former South Carolina standout will now look to expand his workload against the Commanders. Emmanwori is returning to full strength, making this defense even better.
