Seattle Seahawks cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett delivered the highlight of the game for the team in their 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 with a momentum-shifting interception that helped the Seahawks briefly take control of the game late.
Pritchett picked off Brock Purdy with 7:24 remaining in the third quarter, stepping in front of a pass intended for Jacob Cowing. The takeaway gave the Seahawks’ offense a short field, and three plays later, Sam Darnold connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a 16-yard touchdown strike to put Seattle ahead 23-21.

Pritchett’s impact extended beyond the interception. In the first quarter of the game,
he made a sensational special teams tackle, racing downfield and bringing down 49ers returner Jacob Cowing with a vicious tackle shortly after he got his hands on the punt. The play prevented San Francisco from gaining additional field position and helped Seattle’s coverage unit set the tone early.
While the Seahawks ultimately fell to the 49ers on a late field goal, Pritchett’s playmaking on defense stood out as one of the brightest moments of the game in a hard-fought divisional loss, and his special teams tackle was worthy of recognition as well.
