The Seattle Seahawks approach their Week 6 matchup against the Denver Broncos with the chance to add another win to their total over a strong Super Bowl contender.
Several key matchups will factor largely in the outcome of the game, including the Seahawks’ ability to pressure Bo Nix, and Seattle’s secondary, led by Devon Witherspoon, Nick Emmanwori and Josh Jobe being tasked with limiting Broncos star wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton. The game may go one of many ways, but several variables are generating excitement for the matchup.
Here are three bold predictions for the Seahawks’ showdown against the Broncos.
Leonard Williams records multiple sacks
Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams is poised to have a big performance against the Broncos. After failing to record
a sack in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers, Williams will bounce back with multiple sacks in Week 6. His season sack total and quarterback pressure numbers provide context for his impact, but the lack of a sack last week makes him a compelling candidate for a breakout game. Williams’ ability to collapse the pocket from the interior could disrupt Nix’s rhythm and create game-changing defensive moments.
Bo Nix delivers substantial numbers, but Seattle contains Denver’s offense
Nix will produce impressive numbers on the ground, and finish with a substantial total-yardage performance north of 260. However, Seattle’s defense will limit the damage by containing Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton. While Nix may find opportunities to extend plays with his legs, the Seahawks will prevent Sean Payton’s offense from consistently converting its production into points and getting big receptions down the field.
Seattle’s ground game rebounds
The Seahawks’ rushing attack will bounce back with multiple strong performances against the Broncos. Jadarian Price will return and have a career game with over 75 rushing yards and Emanuel Wilson will add another 50-plus behind him. Seattle will generate explosive runs and establish a more physical offensive identity. The improved ground game will ease the pressure placed on the passing attack and give the Seahawks a legitimate path to victory.
