Quarterback Sam Darnold and safety Ty Okada are OUT. Darnold injured his glute on the opening drive of the season last week and is expected to return in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Okada injured his hamstring right before Week 1. Neither practiced all week. Drew Lock will start at QB in Darnold’s place, while Rodney Thomas II is expected to make his second straight start at safety in place of Okada.
Starting right guard Anthony Bradford
is QUESTIONABLE. He was already practicing in a limited capacity due to a knee injury both Wednesday and Thursday, then added a hip injury yesterday which held him out entirely today. He played in last year’s road game against Arizona while banged up and was ridiculed for his performance, but the team would’ve struggled even more to replace him if he couldn’t go. If he doesn’t play, Christian Haynes would be expected to fill in as the immediate backup swing guard on the left and right sides.
Swing tackle Josh Jones participated in full today after being limited with a knee injury the last two days. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp participated fully for the second straight day after being limited with a back injury. Cornerback Josh Jobe had a wrist injury this week but participated fully all three days.
The positive news of the day is that wide receiver Tory Horton, who hasn’t played since Week 9 of last year against the Washington Commanders, practiced in full all week and doesn’t carry an injury designation heading into Sunday. In that last game, he caught four passes for 48 yards and two touchdowns. If he steps on the field this weekend, the Seahawks might have the best four-receiver set we’ve ever seen them have with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kupp, Horton and Rashid Shaheed.
