Will a shocking outcome spring up for the Seattle Seahawks in the 2026 NFL season?
The Seahawks are expected to contend for the Super Bowl again next season. Winning it all won’t come as a shocker, even with the Los Angeles Rams boasting a juggernaut with Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald added to their mix. However, a surprising occurrence may take shape, even in regards to a particular Seahawks player’s performance on the year.
CBS Sports’ Douglas Clawson boldly predicted that Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed will go for over 1,000 receiving yards in 2026.
”The gamebreaker became the fifth player in NFL history with 800+ scrimmage yards and at least three return touchdowns in a season last year (including playoffs), along with Gale Sayers,
Troy Brown, Reggie Bushand Tyreek Hill,” Clawson said regarding Shaheed. “Now he's going to break out after an entire offseason to get acclimated to the Seahawks playbook.”
Shaheed will have a larger role in the Seahawks’ offense next season behind AP Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He will have Cooper Kupp and AJ Barner to battle for targets despite being in line to see more looks on the year.
Even though Shaheed experienced a stark dropoff in production after being traded to Seattle midway through last season, with 188 REC yards across nine games played for the Seahawks compared to 499 in the nine games prior as a member of the New Orleans Saints, his talent as a deep-ball threat, coupled with his new role on the team will position him to put up bigger numbers in 2026.
