The Seattle Seahawks are sitting pretty after a month of play with a 3-1 record, but now the real challenge begins: Seattle has an absolute gauntlet ahead of them with games against the 49ers, Broncos, Chiefs and Bears in their next four outings. First up will be an undefeated San Francisco team who will be itching to avenge their humiliating 41-6 playoff defeat last January.
San Francisco's offense is humming right now, and the Seahawks will need to be at or near full strength in order to slow down this Niners squad. On Monday, Seattle's head coach Mike Macdonald spoke during his weekly appearance on "Brock and Salk" about the health of a few of his key players. Namely defensive tackle Leonard Williams and running back Zach Charbonnet.
Leonard
Williams exited Sunday's game against the Chargers with an ankle injury. Afterwards, Mike Macdonald said it did not appear to be serious. Macdonald is still reiterating that point, and said this in regards to him being available for the Week 5 game against San Francisco:
"I'd say we're optimistic for the game but we'll see how the week goes."
As for Zach Charbonnet, Macdonald said he will get team reps at practice but he will not play on Sunday. The Seahawks are clearly being cautious with Charbonnet's knee, and there is no reason to rush him back before he is ready. Charbonnet is still in the 21 day practice window, but he is eligible to return to active duty should the Seahawks feel he is ready to be elevated to the 53-man roster.
