Seahawks 24, 49ers 20: The first real test for the Seattle Seahawks is finally here, and it's fitting that it comes in the form of an undefeated 4-0 San Francisco 49ers team. It's been an unusual start for the 3-1 Seahawks. Despite the wins and large stretches of dominance, this team has also looked clunky and at times out of sorts. However, that could
have been a case of this team sleepwalking through inferior opponents. Mike Macdonald always seems to get his team to focus in on the most important games when they arrive, and I suspect Sunday will be no different. Seattle is getting healthier, aside from the running back position, while San Francisco is once again dealing with rampant injuries. They will be without star defensive end Nick Bosa and fullback Kyle Juszczyk who is every bit as important as anyone else in that offense. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is playing exceptional football right now, and has yet to take a sack this year. I expect that to change on Sunday, as Macdonald's defense has kept him and the Niners offense in check for the last four games, in which Seattle has gone 3-1. The one loss was still a defensive battle, 17-13, and it happened when Sam Darnold lost a football on a sack/fumble from Mr. Bosa, who we already mentioned will not be playing. The Seahawks aren't a perfected piece of art yet, but I am having a hard time picking against them in this spot.

Seahawks 24, 49ers 22: Sam Darnold hits Elijah Arroyo and Tory Horton for long touchdowns early. Seattle's Dark Side defense forces the Niners to settle for field goals. Seattle wins on a failed 2-point conversion try to end the game.

Seahawks 30, 49ers 27: Sam Darnold and Brock Purdy exchange blows in a high-scoring affair. Darnold hits JSN and Arroyo for touchdowns, while Ernest Jones IV seals it with a late interception.

Seahawks 21, 49ers 20: Seattle will edge San Francisco in a fourth-quarter thriller. Smith-Njigba will make a decisive late reception, and the Seahawks defense will produce a final stop to secure a statement win in the division.

Seahawks 24, 49ers 20: I think this one will be closer than the last two. It’s probably a coin flip type of game, and in that sort of contest I lean toward the home team with the better defense. My guess is Sunday comes down to one or two mistakes and I'd anticipate Seattle forcing the 49ers into those before I’d anticipate it happening the other direction. The Seahawks are just a tough matchup for San Francisco and the odds the 49ers exorcise this demon at Lumen Field seem slim.
