Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers faces a challenging matchup ahead in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and his special teams production may play an important role in the outcome of the game.
Through six games played thus far this season, Myers has converted the fifth-most field goals in the NFL with 12, at a 92.3% success rate, with a season-long kick of 57 yards. He has also made 14 of 15 extra-point attempts, a 93.3% clip. Myers has totaled 50 points on the year. His field-goal accuracy has provided Seattle with a dependable scoring option when offensive possessions get within range or fall short of the end zone.
Myers may see additional opportunities against Kansas City, whose defense presents a difficult challenge for Seattle's offense.
The Chiefs' strength against both the run and the pass may limit the Seahawks' ability to sustain drives and finish possessions with touchdowns. However, those defensive challenges may in turn create more chances for Myers to contribute on field-goal attempts. His accuracy and ability to convert from distance may become important factors as Seattle looks to maximize its scoring opportunities in Week 7.
