Seattle Seahawks star Sam Darnold did not put up as gaudy a stat line in Week 4 as he did the week prior, but did come away with a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and saw his standing among the best quarterbacks in the league.
Pro Football Focus ranked Darnold No. 11 overall in their latest NFL quarterback rankings, highlighting his
”Darnold didn’t play particularly well in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers this past week, going 13-for-22 for 168 yards with a 4.5% big-time throw rate and a 7.7% turnover-worthy play rate,” PFF’s Gordon McGuinness said. “His sample size is still only really two games given how early he got hurt in the season opener. So far, we have seen one terrific performance, and one not so much.”
Darnold has performed
better in the past. In fact, as recently as Week 3, he completed 31-45 passes for 379 yards and four touchdowns with only two interceptions thrown. The Week 4 showing still rendered a positive result for the team, and when watching him play, Darnold was still effective and did what was necessary for the Seahawks to win.
The veteran QB Darnold will get his next chance to improve his standing among the other top quarterbacks in the league in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers.
