Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams enjoyed a fantastic 2025 season. Williams was elite for Mike Macdonald's defense while earning his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance (and third overall). He was a big reason why the Seahawks won Super Bowl 60.
The accolades have continued rolling in for Williams this offseason. ESPN recently named him the No. 1 defensive tackle in the NFL after polling coaches, scouts, and executives around the league. Sports Illustrated ranked him seventh on a similar list.
Williams notched 62 tackles. The former USC standout added seven sacks and 58 pressures to his defensive totals. It tied for the third-most sacks of Williams' career. He had 11 in 2024, his first complete season in Seattle.
Williams possesses
every circumstance to record another 8.5 sacks in 2026. It'll be another year for him in Coach Macdonald's familiar system. Furthermore, Byron Murphy II and Jarran Reed are back to bring continuity to the interior of the defensive line.
Murphy is especially considered a breakout candidate. Murphy's continued emergence would offer Williams more advantageous one-on-one opportunities. Williams (and the entire Seahawks defense) appears primed for another big-time season in 2026.
Hopefully Williams flirts with double-digit sacks during the 2026 season.
