As the reigning Super Bowl LX champions, and by virtue of playing in the NFC West, the schedule was always going to be a gauntlet for the Seattle Seahawks. Not that they aren't up for the task, of course. They are absurdly talented, well coached, and undaunted by the challenge ahead.
But now the Seahawks are going to be getting into the meat of their schedule. Seattle has just finished one of the softer portions of their 2026 campaign, with games against the New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders. The Seahawks made it through almost unscathed with a 2-1 record. You can argue they should have won the Commanders game, and I can counter they maybe should have lost to New England given the circumstances. But either way,
you still end with a 2-1 record which is where the team was at this point last year.
With those three games behind them, the road moving forward becomes far more treacherous. Next on the docket will be the 0-3 Los Angeles Chargers. Again, more arguments can be made this Chargers team is still apart of the "soft" part of the schedule, and given how poor they've looked I might be inclined to agree. However, the Chargers did just give the Buffalo Bills a legitimate fight on the road, and despite losing to the Cardinals in Week 1 no one thinks they are truly as bad as Arizona. Additionally, the Seahawks were given a painful reminder that a winless team can still throw punches when cornered.
After the Chargers, here is what the next few weeks look like for Seattle:
- Week 5 - vs San Francisco 49ers
- Week 6 - at Broncos on a short rest due to Thursday Night Football
- Week 7 - vs Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football
- Week 8 - vs Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football
It won't be until Week 9 that Seattle gets some reprieve with another game against the Arizona Cardinals. Even then, their schedule isn't all that soft as they'll travel to Las Vegas (who is 3-0 right now) before their BYE Week.
The Seahawks are still in great shape overall, but they will need to find a way to fix their rushing attack in a hurry. They were limited to 44 yards as a team on 18 carries. That simply isn't going to get the job done... not against legitimate playoff teams.
