The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up to defend their Super Bowl title in 2026, but the team has already learned new things about its roster this preseason, and the areas of need that they have are
ESPN’s Jordan Reid has the Seahawks selecting Miami defensive tackle Justin Scott with the No. 29 overall pick in his 2027 NFL mock draft.
“Defense was the driver of the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX championship last season, and Seattle GM John Schneider is never shy about fortifying the defensive front,” Reid said. “And with 32-year-old Leonard Williams set to be a free agent and Jarran Reed turning 34 in December, Scott would provide much-needed youth. He needs to add moves to his pass-rush arsenal, but scouts I've talked to believe Scott has potential to be a top-20
pick if he builds on what he showed on tape last season.”
Scott recorded a sack and 6.5 tackles for loss in 2025 at Miami. He may prove to be a star defensive tackle at the NFL level when it is time, in the event that he makes good on appraisals that he’s received thus far ahead of next year’s draft.
