Seattle Seahawks tight end AJ Barner scored his second touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 with just 15 seconds to go in the second quarter, a 7-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Drew Lock.

The play was reviewed, and it put the NFL’s subjective catch rules to the test. Barner possessed the football with both hands against his chest, but based on the eye of the beholder, one could say it hit the ground and moved upon contact. The call on the field was upheld.
Barner ran an in-breaking route, which could represent the schematic story of the first half. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been dicing up the space in between the hashes, with multiple catches on this
very drive helping set up the score.
The Seahawks now lead 14-3 at halftime. Their defense stepped up to get Arizona’s offensive drive off the field five straight times after allowing a field goal on a 10-play, 89-yard opening drive. The offense is finding their rhythm, too, scoring on consecutive drives to end the first half.
