The Seattle Seahawks are now 2-0 on the year thanks to their dominant 31-7 road win over the Arizona Cardinals. Seattle has extended their current win-streak to 12-straight games, which is now a Seahawks franchise record. Additionally, Seattle has now defeated the Cardinals in 10-straight games, which extends the NFL's active longest win streak against a single opponent.
Seattle began Sunday afternoon's game off with a bang, as Drew Lock (filling in for the injured Sam Darnold) connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for an 82-yard touchdown strike on his first pass of the game. This became the longest touchdown in JSN's career, and the fifth-longest in Seahawks history. Drew Lock was incredibly solid on Sunday, completing 19-of-26 passes for 235 yards
and three touchdowns.

Unfortunately, that would be the only offensive highlight from the Seahawks the rest of the first half. Seattle's offense was stuck in neutral for the next two full quarters, failing to score any more. Arizona eventually tied the game at 7-7 to begin the second quarter. The Seahawks had an opportunity to break the tie with a little over a minute remaining in the first half, but turned the ball over on downs after four-straight runs at the goal line. Seattle was an odd combination of far too aggressive and conservative at the same time.
However, adjustments were clearly made at halftime, because an avalanche of college navy and action green smothered the Cardinals. The second half almost began in immdiate disaster as Rashid Shaheed fumbled the opening kick off. Luckily for the Seahawks, linebacker Chazz Surratt scooped up the fumble and returned the ball to Arizona's 37-yard line. Four plays later, Drew Lock found JSN for their second touchdown of the afternoon.

Arizona didn't have much of a response, as their ensuing drive ended with a stunning diving inteception from Julian Love. Seattle only needed eight plays to tack on another three points from Jason Myers, who successfully made his 300th career field goal.

Seattle only had two possessions in the third quarter, both of which ended in points. They kept that trend going in the fourth, scoring two more touchdowns on back-to-back drives to end the game. The Seahawks wore down Arizona's defense with a 10-play, 64-yard drive and a 16-play, 66-yard drive. The touchdown recipents were Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who became the first Seahawks wide receiver with three touchdowns in a game since DK Metcalf did so in 2023. As for the other, it was a rushing score from tight end AJ Barner to become the first non-JSN Seahawk to find the end zone this year.

Now the Seahawks are 2-0, and keep pace with the similarly 2-0 San Francisco 49ers. Seattle will stay on the road to face the Washington Commanders, who were just blown out 37-20 by the Dallas Cowboys. Sadly, the Commanders lost more than just a game, as quarterback Jayden Daniels left after another gruesome left elbow injury - the same elbow he injured in a game against the Seahawks last year.
