The Seahawks are likely to finish as a playoff team in 2026. With a strong record to show for, Seattle will also likely pick at the end of the first round in next year’s draft. With needs at multiple positions and a veteran core on the defense that is advancing in age, the upcoming draft will give the team a chance to address those areas and continue their stretch of competing for Super Bowls.
Todd McShay has Clemson edge rusher Will Heldt going to the Seahawks with the No. 30 overall pick in his most recent 2027 NFL Mock Draft.
“Mike Macdonald builds pressure through multiplicity, and Heldt can line up wide, reduce inside, or work through a stunt
without giving the offense an obvious pre-snap tell,” McShay said. “He’s a long edge defender with quick feet and unusual redirection skills for his size.”
Heldt went for 7.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss in 2025 at Clemson. He already has two sacks and four tackles for loss across two games played for the Tigers in 2026. With Seahawks star DeMarcus Lawrence (34) and Dante Fowler Jr. (32) advancing in age, Heldt may be the star edge rusher that the Seahawks need in order to maintain the strength of their elite defense for the next decade.
