The Seattle Seahawks put forth a dominant defensive performance in Week 4. It went down as a 30-23 defeat over the Los Angeles Chargers. Mike Macdonald's unit led the way.
The Seahawks won the turnover battle 4-1
. That's undeniably the difference in a one-score result. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was limited to 189 yards passing and two interceptions. Linebackers Ernest Jones IV and Drake Thomas had Seattle's two INTs.Seahawks EDGE Uchenna Nwosu had a game-sealing strip sack with one minute remaining in a 30-23 game. Fellow defensive end Derick Hall recovered the loose ball. It was a big-time play by Nwosu versus his former team.
In the first quarter, Chargers punt returner Demario Davis muffed a punt that was recovered by the Seahawks.
It was a special moment for Seahawks special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh, who was coaching against his dad, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Chargers suffered multiple injuries across the offensive line. The Seahawks capitalized by registering four sacks on Herbert. Nwosu, Jones, Nick Emmanwori, and Byron Murphy II had the Seahawks' QB takedowns.
Seattle's offense scored 30 points, but often took advantage of short fields provided to them by the defense. It was a dominant defensive showing.
