The Denver Broncos signed safety Taylor Rapp to their practice squad, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, taking a veteran defensive back off the market for the Seattle Seahawks, who approach next season with a restructured secondary following Coby Bryant’s offseason departure.
Rapp is a former Super Bowl champion from the 2021 season as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. He has recorded 12 interceptions across seven seasons played in the NFL. The 28-year-old returns to Denver after the Broncos initially signed him in August before releasing him less than a week later.
The Rams selected Rapp with the No. 61 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Rapp spent his first four seasons with Los Angeles before joining Buffalo in 2023. Rapp’s 2025 season was
shortened by a knee injury. He appeared in six games, making 26 tackles, before Buffalo released him during the offseason.
The Seahawks have Ty Okada, Julian Love and Nick Emmanwori at safety. Nevertheless, Rapp was a veteran that the team missed out on adding to their own ranks for the new season. Seattle has signed several defensive backs in recent weeks including Trevon Diggs and Terrion Arnold at the cornerback slot, but Rapp was a player with the experience to add to the safety unit.
The Broncos enter the season with Brandon Jones and Talanoa Hufanga atop the safety depth chart. Rapp provides veteran experience for Denver as they prepare for the regular season.
