Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love enters Week 3 with an opportunity to break an early-season tie in the NFL’s statistical leaderboard and claim sole possession of the league’s interception lead.
Love shares the league lead of two interceptions alongside New York Giants safety Jevon Holland, Las Vegas Raiders rookie Hezekiah Masses and Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd, per Sleeper Sports.
With four players sitting atop the leaderboard, the race is tight. Another big game from Love in Week 3 may leave him alone at the top of the league, provided his fellow co-leaders do not add as many INTs to their totals.
Love opened the season with an interception in Week 1, helping the Seahawks defeat the New England Patriots 13-10. He then recorded
another pick in Week 2. His impact has extended beyond interceptions, as he has contributed in multiple other areas, but his picks stand out.
Love’s ability to patrol the field and create disruption figures to keep him as a key producer in Seattle’s defense as the season moves forward and gives him a good chance to seize the league lead in interceptions for himself in Week 3.
However, Love's availability for Week 3 is suddenly in jeopardy. He appeared on the injury list for Thursday's practice due to a calf injury and was a non-participant. Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor the situation.
