The Seattle Seahawks lost another nailbiter in Week 6. They were defeated 17-14 by the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in overtime. For a third consecutive defeat, losing the turnover battle was decisive to Seattle's loss.
The Seahawks have committed a minimum of three turnovers throughout each of their three defeats. They've totaled 10 turnovers in three losses. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw two interceptions versus the Broncos, meaning he's thrown 7 INTs in just four complete games.
Seahawks wide receiver/kick returner Rashid Shaheed lost a fumble against the Broncos. The Seahawks were down 14-3 when Shaheed fumbled an end-around in Broncos territory (30-yard line). It was the perfect microcosm to represent this struggling offense
right now.
The Seahawks have lost five fumbles in six games. Granted, they've already played in Week 6, but only two NFL teams enter the weekend having lost more fumbles than the Seahawks have. In total, Brian Fleury's struggling offense has committed 12 turnovers. Only the winless Los Angeles Chargers have more giveaways (13) on offense.
Darnold is now tied for the league-lead with Drake Maye and Justin Herbert in interceptions (7). He's played fewer games than they have. Shaheed, George Holani, Emanuel Wilson, and Jadarian Price have lost fumbles for the Seahawks this season. This offense just can't do anything right.
