The Seattle Seahawks are celebrating a thrilling 13-10 win over the New England Patriots, but it almost wasn't an evening filled with smiles. During Seattle's opening drive, quarterback Sam Darnold was injured on a third down sack and limped to the blue medical tent. After a short visit there, Darnold then limped back to the locker room where he did not return.
Obviously, the health of the Seahawks' starting quarterback is now the most pressing story for the team right now. After the game, head coach Mike Macdonald did offer some mostly positive news regarding Darnold's health. According to Macdonald, the team received positive news. While there are still unknowns, the initial CT scan and x-ray ruled out a fracture on the hip. Darnold will still get
an MRI on Thursday to get the full picture.
If Darnold avoided a fracture, that is tremendous news. We at Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor all news related to Darnold's health.
However, it does seem all but certain the Seahawks are going to be without Darnold for a while. How long? We don't know. But this could very well be the Drew Lock show. And honestly, regardless of what we see on Thursday, the Seahawks should still start Drew Lock next week against the Arizona Cardinals.
