There’s much reason to be bullish about the year that Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price will have in 2026.
Price approaches his first season in the NFL with the chance to cement himself a major fixture in Seattle’s offense after the team placed Zach Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform list to begin the season. Charbonnet, recovering from a torn ACL injury, will miss at least the first four games of the year, creating more opportunities for Price to get a great amount of carries and turn that into big production for the team.
The Seahawks’ No. 32 overall pick in this year’s draft put his gifted running ability on display during his final season at Notre Dame in 2025, having rushed for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns across
12 games played.
Having done so while sharing carries with former Notre Dame teammate Jeremiyah Love, the top running back in this year’s draft class, accentuates just how great Price was with the opportunities that he was given, and suggests that he is capable of handling an increased workload.
Seattle's backfield no longer has Kenneth Walker III, who departed for the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and Charbonnet's recovery paves the way for Price to get the lion share of carries ahead of George Holani and Emanuel Wilson.
Price's combination of speed, vision and big-play ability could make him especially dangerous if Seattle’s offensive line consistently creates openings for him. His ability as a receiver also gives the Seahawks another way to get the ball in his hands.
Not only is a finish to the upcoming season as an AP Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist in the cards for Price, but play that directly impacts games may also be what he provides for the Seahawks as they look to win the Super Bowl for the second straight year in 2026.
