The Seattle Seahawks blew out the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2, beating their division rival 31-7. One of the biggest storylines was the return of one of Seattle's most important defensive players. Safety Nick Emmanwori returned to action.
Emmanwori played nine snaps in what the Seahawks used as a ramp-up opportunity for the sophomore defender. The 35th overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft had been sidelined since July after undergoing ankle surgery. Emmanwori missed the entire preseason and huge chunks of training camp as well. He was also listed on the injury report with a hip problem.
"It was great for him to get the confidence back, get him moving," head coach Mike Macdonald said about Emmanwori's return. "He got a couple rushes in, which
was cool. So we should be really accelerating into next week."
Emmanwori was credited with two tackles and two run-game stops by Pro Football Focus. Next Gen Stats credited Emmanwori with a pressure via two pass-rushing snaps. The versatile and athletic safety appeared to be moving around without limitations.
The Seahawks have been anxiously awaiting Emmanwori's return. His Week 2 sample-size indicated his injury-related difficulties are behind him. The Seahawks are finally getting Emmanwori back to full strength.
