The Seattle Seahawks
signed two rookie running backs Tuesday: Robert Henry Jr. to the active roster and Dontae McMillan to the practice squad. They’re in need of as much juice as possible in the running back room in short order. What might general manager John Schneider, head coach Mike Macdonald, offensive coordinator Brian Fleury, or running backs coach Thomas Hammock believe these two can bring to the table?Let’s start with Henry, an explosive runner who dropped in the draft. He grinded from Jones County Junior College in Mississippi to University of Texas at San Antonio to become a legitimate 2026 NFL Draft prospect. On Seattle Sports Radio Tuesday, NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah told Brock & Salk that Henry was initially ranked inside
his top 150 players with a fifth-round grade, but discussions with league personnel gave him pause. One quote stood out, though:
“You watch him against Texas A&M, he looked like the fastest player on the field.”
When compared with his pre-draft athletic testing, the tape observation checks out. Henry’s a 70th-percentile overall athlete despite being undersized, with 86th- to 89th-percentile explosiveness and 65th- to 78th-percentile straight speed.
Robert Henry Jr. is a RB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 6.90 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 705 out of 2268 RB from 1987 to 2026.https://t.co/CXF53zDmo1 pic.twitter.com/38VEDpHoQW

He should be the home-run hitter for the time being. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him and last week’s starting running back, Emanuel Wilson, in a true timeshare against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
