Seattle Seahawks tight end Eric Saubert recovered his own fumble in the end zone against the Washington Commanders midway through the third quarter to score his first NFL touchdown in two years.

Sam Darnold finds Eric Saubert to make it a one score game once more. Saubert initially lost the ball, but recovered his own fumble to score his first TD in two years. Commanders lead 24-17 with 6:05 left in the third quarter.

Sam Darnold hit Saubert at the 10-yard line, and the blocking specialist came through big when called upon in the passing game by powering forward into the end zone. He carried several defenders over the goal line with him, who went for the football
over bringing him to the ground, and ultimately did get it out. However, Saubert recovered his own fumble to cut the Commanders’ lead to 24-17 and put the Seahawks back within one score.
Marcus Mariota and the Commanders are now on offense once again and will look to hold the ball for as long as possible. Terry McLaurin’s whale of a third quarter is giving Seattle’s defensive backfield fits. Josh Jobe, Rodney Thomas II, and AJ Finley will need to come up big to change momentum quickly.
