The Seattle Seahawks are signing tight end Josiah Deguara to their practice squad, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, as the team progresses into the middle portion of its schedule.
Deguara was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 94 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He most recently played for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, and appeared in one game before joining the Seahawks’ ranks. Seattle’s decision adds another experienced option to its tight end ranks as the team continues its 2026 season.
The veteran Deguara also spent time with Jacksonville and Arizona after his time in Green Bay, before his stint in Philadelphia. During his NFL career, Deguara has recorded 53 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns
across 78 games played. His best receiving season came in 2021, when he finished with 25 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns with the Packers.
Deguara will now look to earn an opportunity with Seattle after joining the practice squad. His experience in multiple offensive systems figures to add to the depth that the Seahawks have as they evaluate their options at the position throughout the season.
