We've had a few days to stir on the Seattle Seahawks' Week 1 performance, a 13-10 win over the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl LX rematch. Rookie running back Jadarian Price rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries. The Seahawks should consider playing him more versus the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
Price's 52 rushing yards were second-most among rookie running backs in Week 1 (Monday Night Football notwithstanding). Yet Price was third among rookies in carries. His 5.2 yards per attempt mark proved he was extremely effective.
The Cardinals did a surprisingly good job stopping the run in Week 1. Chargers lead back Omarion Hampton rushed for just 43 yards (and a touchdown), averaging 3.6 yards per carry. That Cardinals defensive front was significantly
stouter than pre-Week 1 critics expected.
Fellow Seahawks back George Holani wasn't as impactful for Brian Fleury's offense in Week 1. Holani gained just 29 yards while averaging a pedestrian 3.6 yards per carry. It'll be interesting to see how Coach Fleury adjusts the backfield workload for the Cardinals game in Week 2.
Price was the Seahawks' most productive back in Week 1. Hopefully the Seahawks are willing to adjust as necessary versus the Cardinals in Week 2.
