This is the second muffed punt the Seahawks have recovered in the past two weeks. Last week, Connor O’Toole recovered one against the Los Angeles Chargers. That one fell right through the returner’s hands, though; this one required a big hit from Pritchett. The Seahawks’ special teams have been key the past two weeks, with the punt team in particular helping out the offense after consecutive games where quarterback Sam Darnold threw an interception
on his first pass attempt. There was a big pile on the football, but tight end Eric Saubert came up with the fumble recovery once the bodies were removed.
Seattle puts the special in special teams. It paid off in a massive way, as seven plays later Emanuel Wilson found the end zone for a touchdown to tie the game at 7-7 in the first quarter.
