The Seattle Seahawks passed their first test with flying colors. They defeated the New England Patriots 13-10 in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. The Seahawks won the Super Bowl LX rematch, improving to 1-0 on the campaign.
ESPN releases their league-wide power rankings every week. The Seahawks began the season as the No. 2 ranked team in the NFL. As Week 2 prepares for kickoff, the Seahawks remain at No. 2 in ESPN's NFL Nation Power Rankings, trailing the Buffalo Bills.
"Rookie running back Jadarian Price had a solid debut, but [safety Rodney] Thomas gets the nod for helping Seattle's defense hold New England to 10 points," Brady Henderson summarized. "Starting for an injured Ty Okada, Thomas had a pass breakup that resulted in an interception
and an open-field tackle on consecutive drives. The plays got Seattle the ball back for drives that ended with a field goal and the tying touchdown. Thomas, a former starter with the Colts, signed a one-year, $1.4 million deal with the Seahawks and began on the practice squad."
The Seahawks will face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. It'll be their first divisional matchup of the campaign. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold currently isn't expected to play. We'll see if the Seahawks can beat the Cardinals with Drew Lock at quarterback.
