Will Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba be the highest-scoring player at the position in fantasy football this week?
Sports Illustrated tabbed Smith-Njigba as their No. 1-ranked fantasy football wide receiver for Week 3, following his dominant start to the season that has made him one of the league’s most productive pass-catchers.
Smith-Njigba had a huge game in Week 2, catching nine passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns. The performance followed a strong Week 1 showing in which he totaled eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown, immediately establishing himself as an elite wide receiver option for fantasy football team managers who have him on their roster.
Through two games, Smith-Njigba has scored 60.7 fantasy points
in ESPN PPR leagues. He has been on a tear to begin the year and is likely to keep up his standard-setting pace as a stat-stuffer moving forward.
Seattle faces the Washington Commanders in Week 3, and the Commanders’ pass defense has struggled to contain opposing offenses. Washington has allowed 241 passing yards per game and enters the matchup seeking answers after yielding 37 points in its most recent loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Smith-Njigba’s early production, high target volume and big-play ability make him an elite fantasy football option in Week 3, in what will be a favorable matchup for Seattle against Washington.
