Seattle Seahawks superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba remains atop the NFL’s receiving yards leaderboard following the Week 8 slate of games on Sunday, per DraftKings, but he has yet to play this week as he’s set to face the Chicago Bears
in primetime tonight, making that an impressive accomplishment considering the fact that he is the only receiver in the top five who has yet to take the field this week. With Seattle scheduled to face the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, Smith-Njigba has maintained his lead without having yet added to his season total.
Smith-Njigba currently leads the NFL in receiving yards with 867, which has told the story of his outstanding season thus far and established him as one of the league’s most productive
offensive weapons.
The four players closest behind him are Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, who has 726 yards, followed by Dallas Cowboys superstar WR CeeDee Lamb (709), Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (708) and New Orleans Saints star WR Chris Olave (636). Smith-Njigba holds a 141-yard advantage over Higgins.
Smith-Njigba will have the opportunity to build on his impressive season and extend his league-lead in receiving yards with another big performance in Week 8 against Chicago. The Bears have allowed the 11th-fewest passing yards to opponents in the league this season with 1,689. Coming off of a 150-yard performance against Kansas City last week, Smith-Njigba appears poised to have another big game against Chicago and may extend his lead atop the league’s receiving yards leaderboard.
