Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock was excellent in Sunday's blowout Week 2 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Starting in place of the injured Sam Darnold, Lock completed 19-of-26 passing attempts for 235 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He continues to be exactly what the Seahawks need him to be.
Brady Henderson from ESPN noted Lock's two games this season have been among the best of his career by Total QBR (ESPN's metric).

Week 1 vs. NE: 83.7, 6th
Week 2 at ARI: 88.8, 3rd
One difference Sunday: more down-field throws. His average attempt went 8.8 yards beyond the LOS (11th among Week 2 QBs). It was 6.0 (24th) Week 1. pic.twitter.com/NjXqz7hOkT
Of
Lock's seven incompletions versus the Cardinals, two were credited as flat-out drops. Through Week 2, Lock's QBR of 86.4 ranks fourth in the entire NFL. He only trails Brock Purdy (95.0), Dak Prescott (87.2), and Josh Allen (86.8).
The way Lock is playing ensures the Seahawks do not have to rush Darnold back from his glute injury. The unique soft tissue injury doesn't have a concrete return-to-play timeline. The Seahawks did recently receive a positive update on Darnold's status.
The Seahawks will play against a backup quarterback in Week 3. Marcus Mariota will be starting for the Washington Commanders after starter Jayden Daniels suffered a serious elbow injury in Week 2. There's no need to rush Darnold back given the circumstances. The Seahawks can definitely beat the Commanders with Lock at quarterback.
