The Seattle Seahawks activated running back Zach Charbonnet off the physically unable to perform list Thursday morning, as expected. Seahawks.com senior writer John Boyle put out the team’s official press release at 10:59 a.m. PDT. Tight end Elijah Arroyo was moved to injured reserve in a corresponding move.
Today marked the end of Charbonnet’s designated 21-day practice window that began on Oct. 1. If the Seahawks didn’t activate him today, they would be unable to do so for the rest of the 2026 season.
Charbonnet is now on the 53-man roster, but not guaranteed to play in Week 7. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed excitement about the possibility, saying Charbonnet would “have a full week’s worth of reps,” and he’s on track for that after practicing
in full on Wednesday. Macdonald didn’t give a clear lean as to whether Charbonnet would play against the Kansas City Chiefs.
For players returning from an ACL injury, getting back on the field or getting activated doesn’t mean full health. It can take several months or even years to regain full agility and explosiveness when dealing with serious lower body injuries. Charbonnet’s game status will be key to monitor in the final injury report on Friday and when the inactives list is released 90 minutes ahead of Sunday Night Football’s 5:20 p.m. PDT kickoff.
