Will Seattle Seahawks great Richard Sherman enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame next year?
Sherman approaches his first year of eligibility in 2027. The former Seahawks cornerback was a five-time All-Pro honoree in his career. He led the NFL in interceptions in 2013 and won the Super Bowl with Seattle at the end of that season. However, gaining entry into the Hall of Fame is not the easiest road for a retired great to travel.
CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo forecasted that Sherman will likely have to wait to gain entry into the Hall of Fame in 2027, despite his impressive resume.
“Sherman should receive a gold jacket at some point,” DeArdo said. “A member of the 2000s All-Decade Team, Sherman was a three-time All-Pro cornerback and the leader of the Seahawks'
"Legion of Boom" defense, which led Seattle to its first Super Bowl title.”
Sherman has a great case to enter the Hall. He was one of the best cornerbacks of his era and helped define the generation. Whether or not he has to wait a year or more to be inducted remains to be seen, given the great former players and coaches who were snubbed in 2026, most notably being Bill Belichick. Nevertheless, Sherman is likely to get in quickly.
