The Seattle Seahawks had plenty of difficult decisions to make during the offseason, and one of their biggest ones was related to running back Kenneth Walker III. Seattle's MVP of Super Bowl LX had his rookie contract expire the day after the big game, and was officially a free agent. The Seahawks ultimately allowed Walker to sign a three-year deal worth up to $43.5 million with the Kansas City Chiefs. Sadly, you cannot keep everyone in football.
Seattle's loss was clearly Kansas City's gain, as Walker exploded during his Chiefs debut on Monday night. Kansas City dominated the Denver Broncos 31-10 at home behind the legs of Walker, who had 173 rushing yards on 23 carries, including this 60-yard touchdown run.

Additionally, Walker showed off his versatility with three receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown through the air as well.

Walker showed exactly why the Chiefs invested a small fortune into the Super Bowl MVP. Kansas City has lacked a true playmaker at the running back position for several years now, and just gave the team an explosive edge to make them more of a dynamic threat. On a night where quarterback Patrick Mahomes wasn't as sharp as he usually is (15-of-27 for 184 yards, two touchdowns and a pick) having Walker to lean on helped elevate Kansas City above Denver.
