The Seattle Seahawks dominated headlines earlier this week when they traded for Indianapolis Colts left guard Quenton Nelson. This move represents the most significant upgrade to Seattle’s offensive line since the days of Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson.
Of course, with Nelson arriving to a team with two starting caliber guards already on the roster, the biggest questions became “how will he fit in and when will we see him in action?” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald answered both on Thursday.
Macdonald confirmed Quentin Nelson will start at left guard for Seattle’s “Monday Night Football” game against the Chicago Bears. As for who gets shuffled on the line… previous left guard Grey Zabel will move to right guard, and Anthony Bradford will move to a backup
role. This news was reported by ESPN’s Brady Henderson.
Mike Macdonald confirms that Quenton Nelson will play left guard for the Seahawks -- the only position he's played in the NFL -- and that Grey Zabel will move to right guard.

While an offensive line that features both Quenton Nelson and Grey Zabel represents a considerable upgrade, it’s hard not to feel for Anthony Bradford. He was finally back in action after spending several weeks on IR, and actually played well in the 20-3 win over the Chiefs. Unfortunately for him, it was not enough to keep his starting spot.
Seattle’s exceptional locker room culture will be put to the test with these recent moves.
