The Seattle Seahawks were without starting quarterback Sam Darnold in Week 2. Nonetheless, they made light work of the Arizona Cardinals with Drew Lock at quarterback, winning 31-7. Superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba keeps producing big-time results no matter what.
The Cardinals' defense had absolutely no answer for JSN. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year recorded nine receptions for 155 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Lock was a smooth 19-of-26 for 235 yards and three touchdowns (all to JSN).
The Seahawks were concerned about not having Darnold at quarterback. Smith-Njigba just continues producing unbelievable results no matter who his quarterback is. He's inevitable at this point.
The Cardinals entered this game a surprising
1-0 after a stout defensive performance versus the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. Nonetheless, the Seahawks' offense didn't encounter any resistance whatsoever. They didn't have a single defensive back who could corral Smith-Njigba.
The Seahawks will hope to get Darnold back soon. It probably won't be in Week 3 versus the Washington Commanders. Mike Macdonald and Brian Fleury can sleep well knowing Smith-Njigba will produce no matter who is at quarterback. The star wideout just keeps torching opposing defenses, no matter what the circumstances are.
