The Seattle Seahawks did not necessarily hit the ground running as an offense in Week 1. After losing starting quarterback Sam Darnold to an injury just a handful of snaps into the game, the entire offense was shellshocked. The team managed to pull out a victory, beating the New England Patriots 13-10 in a Super Bowl LX rematch.
With the Arizona Cardinals as the opponent for Week 2, we've identified three potential X-factors for the Seahawks on offense.
Drew Lock, QB
Backup quarterback Drew Lock will officially get the start after Darnold was ruled out. Lock replaced Darnold in Week 1 and oversaw an efficient offense that didn't make any glaring mistakes. He'll be tasked with being a game manager versus the Cardinals in Week 2.
Jadarian Price, RB
It was a promising debut for rookie
running back Jadarian Price, who rushed for 55 yards and averaged 5.0 yards per attempt. With Darnold sidelined, it's safe to assume offensive coordinator Brian Fleury will try to lean on a ground-and-pound approach. Price should be in line for an even bigger workload than 10 carries.
Cooper Kupp, WR
Lock seemed to trust veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp when he replaced Darnold. Kupp only finished with two receptions for 35 yards, but he had a touchdown erased due to a pre-snap penalty. The experienced and savvy route runner could be Lock's security blanket in Week 2.
